Can the planner choose more than one hotel if needed?

Yes, the planner can award one RFP to multiple hotels.

Can planners see destinations under consideration if hotels outside their portfolio are included?

How do DMOs create proposals on behalf of hotels for citywide business?

Currently, HopSkip does not support the ability for DMOs to submit convention center or destination proposals for citywide business. However, we are actively working on these capabilities and will have them available on the platform soon.

Can hotels respond to RFPs after the due date?

Yes, hotels can send RFP proposals after the due date. HopSkip will not prevent a Hotel from responding after the date the planner requested responses. However, planners have the option to stop receiving proposals, which will prevent hotels from submitting responses.

How do you manage hotel responses to revised leads?

We track when a planner updates an existing RFP and notify hotels when a planner has made an update that requires an updated proposal to be submitted. The planner will be notified once the hotel has submitted an updated proposal. Planners will still be able to view all versions of previously submitted proposals.

Can you pull one hotel availability report showing all our hotels, their dates, rates, space comments, and availability in an Excel recap?

Yes, NSOs/GSOs, Sales Affiliates, and DMOs/CVBs can download a proposal comparison report that compares the key information from each respective proposal side-by-side.

You can find this report within an RFP by clicking the Reports tab and downloading the Proposal Comparison Report option.

How long does it take for a hotel to submit a response?

The time for a hotel to submit a response varies, but we’re told the HopSkip platform has best-in-class response times, averaging 12-48 hours per proposal/RFP.

Do CVBs/DMOs and Convention Centers need to sign up for an account to respond to RFPs? What is the cost?

Yes. CVBs, DMOs, and Convention Centers must sign up for an account to respond to RFPs. The great news is that it is free to receive leads, bid on opportunities, and win business from the HopSkip platform.

Hotels, DMOs, and Sales Affiliates can upgrade to a premium (paid) account. This upgrade can generate additional opportunities and increase conversion rates.

What types of documents should be included in DMO Sales Materials?

Sales materials should include marketing brochures, promotional videos, virtual or immersive tours, and relevant marketing documents that best highlight your destination.

Can a DMO/CVB or an NSO/GSO search for hotels by airport or city?

Yes. Today, you can search by city or airport and suggest a hotel for the planner.

Can a DMO/CVB or an NSO/GSO suggest hotels in bulk?

Currently, you cannot suggest hotels in bulk. We are expanding the features available for DMOs and NSOs/GSOs to search and suggest hotels, including additional filters for searching and the ability to add and suggest hotels in bulk.

Can a DMO/CVB or an NSO/GSO see where an opportunity is going once a hotel or location has been selected?

DMOs and CVBs can only see where the RFP has been awarded if the hotel falls within its destination or portfolio. However, we will soon enhance this feature to allow DMOs and NSOs/GSOs to view where the RFP was awarded, even if the hotel falls outside of their destination or portfolio.

Does HopSkip offer the ability to source convention centers?

Currently, HopSkip does not support planners' ability to source convention centers. However, we are actively working on these capabilities and will have them available on the platform soon.

Where are you getting the contact information for the hotels requested?

We obtain hotel contact information from various sources, such as calling the hotel and working with our corporate partners across the major hotel chains and groups to ensure accuracy and quick response times. If copied on an RFP, you can add email contacts to hotels in your portfolio.

Will Hotel NSO see that a CVB was copied on the RFP?

Hotels will see if a CVB was copied on the RFP. NSOs and other industry contacts copied on the RFP are not visible to other NSOs and industry contacts.

Can you download the RFP information from HopSkip

You can download the RFP information directly from HopSkip as a PDF.

Please note: We ask that RFPs not be distributed via email to hotels to avoid having proposals submitted via email, which can cause the planner to lose the ability to include the hotel's proposal in the reports and presentations planners create using HopSkip.
